As a society, we always want to play an active role within our local community, which is why every year we pick a different charity to fundraise for. Over this past year we have been fundraising for Coventry Haven,a local charity which supports and provides care for domestic abuse victims. We recognise that local charities can be less likely to recieve contribution, and so prefer to support such charities. The following images showcase some of the fundraising events we put on.
SocSoc Socks was a unique and festive way of raising money for charity, which is why they were shortlisted for 'Most Innovative Fundraising Initiative' at Warwick's Society Awards. In name of Christmas, this event allowed students to purchase these adorable socks, containing festive goodies, to be delivered to a fellow student as a sweet gesture by a member of the exec. This event was hugely successful and managed to sell out! The money raised from this event was £126.50.
Very recently we hosted a hugely succesful charity raffle, selling 850 tickets in just 2 days! The raffle included an aray of fabulous prizes, including vouchers from Nandos, Le Gusta, Thorntons, Costa and McDonalds! The picture shows some of the exec sat outside the library, one of the places we had members selling tickets.
